Route 66

In August of 2020, in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, I embarked on a journey along the fabled Route 66. It was a solo expedition along the tapestry of America’s rich past.   Open roads with only a handful of cars and trucks. Hidden people shuttered behind closed doors. A whole country void and unable to greet this  weary but not worried traveler. Notwithstanding this airborne disease ridden landscape, my 3,280 mile  drive along Route 66 was ultimately an act of hope; a reminder that the human desire to explore, to seek new horizons, and embrace the unknown will always endure, even in the face of abject danger and death.
